Routers/Dialup

If you have a Dial-up connection, can you use a router to mask your IP address? Yes...

You can go to the website at the bottom to check it out.

Most Dial-up connections are not static, static meaning that their IP address always remains the same,

every time you connect to the internet you have a different IP address anyway, any one of which

is assigned by your internet provider.   Also just a note for thought, any one on DSL has the

same IP address also, and so does cable, laughs. There is only one IP address per connection to the internet.

If you have multiple computers - multiple ways to connect to the internet you can have more than one IP.

If you have a wireless router and connect to the internet through the router via internet cable from your computer,

you have one IP address, if you disable the cable connection and go wireless through the same router, you

will have a different IP address. Or you can use a proxy server to get even a different IP that someone on the

web would see.  So tracking IP addresses becomes an art in itself.
